So yea this piece took me a bit of work ...but I'm so glad I finished it instead of abandoning it. It was one of those paintings you want to punch because its not looking right, but then out of nowhere it's finished and its exactly what you were aiming for .....
So I'm making limited edition prints of this one because it was a special request from a friend at work.
He gets dibs on the first edition.
Here are all the pics from start to finish
This is the point when i got pissed off and threw it across the room
this is the next day when I picked it up and started painting some more
threw on some more color
and then the art fairy said boom done.

Hmm I will name you "Wishbowl"
honestly I was bored and wanted to draw a person ..then I got lazy, and instead of putting a head on the person I made a fishbowl. Yeah, I know what your thinking, "This guy must be on drugs." Well no not really but imagine how crazy this would have been if I was ...Ahhhh!!!!
I kinda wanna put a random ass fish in the top left corner. What do you guys think?

This Is My Fish, Izzy
Its no secret that i love to paint fish, but this lil girl is cute. Yea i did just say lil girl, and thats because im tired of people calling their paintings guys. Seriously people there are two genders.
but on to the painting. I used a nice thick Jet Black on the background and faded to purple, and then to a nice aqua green. blah blah blah art details. .................
................
.................then we have the main focus. The beautiful fish at the center. I imagined, what if a Betta was the color of a gold fish, and from there I added my own special touches that made it my type of art
oh yea and click on the pic it looks better really big

Do You Ever Feel Like "Pooh"
I was just sitting there staring at a sheet of [paper after painting an offensively bright yellow on it, and I was having the hardest time deciding what to paint. I gave up for a bit and went to work. In the four hours that I was there I had about three or four people ask me if i ever went to see the new Pooh movie, and I just had to keep saying nope. Then when I picked up my stuff to paint I knew what I had to do. Well my day made me feel like "Pooh" so I figured id paint that.
haha.. that ended up looking like this.
So thank you everyone who asked about the move :)

Yea the first draft did look like a vagina.
I painted this for one of my old friends, Bryttnie and her boyfriend Tim. Originally they asked me for an abstract photo with blacks and reds with some silvers thrown in and that was an EPIC failure. It ended up looking like a vagina, and honestly wasn't my best work, but it was a good learning experience.
Vagina seen below.
After heading back to the drawing board for a few hours and starting from scratch I managed to create something a little more G rated.
So this is the final product. A beautiful pinkish-red background with a huge tree and tons of blossoms.
the Late Bloomer
The idea behind this picture was a flower I found that hadn't fully bloomed. All the flowers around it were in full bloom and just as shiney and happy as could be, but this lil guy was so sad and frail. I took that and isolated it, threw in a bright background and some colors that contrasted, and boom this was born.
art as of today 7/24/11
For days now I've been trying to come up with some kind of creature to make using gouache and in the middle of throwing some paint on paper i thought of this lil guy.
